The staff is experienced, and all are experts in the coaching methods that have been developed in the camp's three decades.
The senior instructor is Mac Percival, now in his 28th year with the program. The former NFL standout spent seven seasons with the Chicago Bears and connected on 99 field goals in his career. He led the league in kicking during his second season with the Bears.
Returning for a eighth year as chief instructor is NFL Hall of Famer Jan Stenerud. During his 19-year career with Kansas City, Green Bay and Minnesota, Stenerud kicked 373 field goals, totaled 1,699 points, and played in six Pro Bowls.
Stenerud was selected as the best kicker in NFL history.
With his election in 1991, Stenerud was the first and is still the only pure kicker enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
The nation's best college kicker in 2003 is another staff veteran. All-American Nate Kaeding has completed his third year as the kicker for the San Diego Chargers and will be back with the camp in 2007. Also participating are Derrick Frost, a four-year NFL veteran now punting for the Washington Redskins, and Mike Eischeid, a former punter for eight years with the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings with a 41-yard career average.
Others are Rich Miller, ex-Iowa State University punter; Ryan Horvath, ex-punter and placekicker for Drake University; Nick Matsen, a long snapper from the University of Northern Iowa; Mick Hale, a punter for Peru State (NE); and Scott Hale, a 28-year staff member and camp director from Iowa State University.
Also on hand are several current college athletes who are camp alumni.
