The staff is experienced, and all are experts in the coaching methods that have been developed in the camp's four decades of existence.
The senior instructor is Mac Percival, now in his 31st year with the program. The former NFL standout spent eight seasons with the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys. He led the league in kicking during his second season when he was 25 out of 36 on field goals with the Bears.
Nate Kaeding completed his sixth year with the San Diego Chargers and will be back at the camps in 2010. Nate has connected on 150 of 172 field goal attempts for a 87.2 percentage, which makes him the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history. Nate was selected for the second time to the Pro Bowl following the 2009 season. He was an All-American at the University of Iowa and the 2003 Lou Groza Award winner as the nation's top kicker.
Heading up the punting instruction at the camps is Mike Eischeid, a nine-year NFL veteran with the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings. Mike compiled a 41.2-yard average on 565 career punts. Mike is in his seventh year on the camp staff.
After leading the staff the past nine years, Jan Stenerud, is now Chief Instructor Emeritus and will be available for consultation and occasional guest appearances. Stenerud was the first and is still the only pure kicker enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame (1991). During his 19-year career with Kansas City, Green Bay and Minnesota, Jan kicked 373 field goals, totaled 1,699 points and played in six Pro Bowls.
Other staff includes Rich Miller, ex-Iowa State University punter; Cory Henke, ex-punter and kicker for the University of Northern Iowa; Nick Matsen, a long snapper from the University of Northern Iowa; Mick Hale, a punter for Peru State (NE); and Scott Hale, a 30-year staff member and camp director from Iowa State University.
Also on hand are several current college athletes who are camp alumni.
